HHDL Birthday Puja and Long Life Puja for Khensur Rinpoche
On Sunday, 6th July we had a beautiful puja at TKSL to celebrate the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, with extensive tsog offerings and prayers for His Holiness to remain long to guide us. Together we made offerings totalling nearly $1,000 including a money offering for His Holiness, which I will arrange to be donated towards the next formal long life puja in Dharamsala.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and/or donated towards the puja offerings. Thanks also to Chödrön for leading the puja and especially to Bruce for doing all the tsog shopping and other running around. There are some lovely photos of the offerings but everyone forgot to take pictures during the puja itself. So if you weren’t there, you’ll have to use your imagination! Please continue to make ongoing daily prayers for the long life of our precious teachers. Their presence depends on our merit.
At home in Rinpoche’s house we had a lunch party to commemorate His Holiness’s birthday. Celebrating with Rinpoche were all his attendants as well as several other students who help with his care. We all enjoyed Thai food and a very delicious cheesecake. Sorry but I forgot to take photos!
A couple of weeks ago, near the end of the holy month of Saka Dawa, we requested a long life puja for Khensur Rinpoche in his house at Sera. The Puja was conducted by several young Geshes who made extensive tsog offerings and prayers on our behalf. Here are some pictures.
